Internship at AS&E

Rapiscan | AS&E is a cargo and vehicle X-ray imaging and radiation detection technology company.
I began my internship at AS&E in 2021, the summer after my sophomore year of college. I worked full-time from June until September. I continued to work part-time during my junior year of college. I was asked to return the summer after my junior year to once again work full time June to September.
Summer 2022
My second summer with AS&E, I was invited to the 2022 Eastern National Robot Rodeo (ENRR) in Arkansas. I attended and assisted my company with interfacing our backscatter x-ray device to various robots there. Much of the summer was spent working with the L3Harris T7 Robot and interfacing various x-ray devices to it.

Designed and printed parts for a weight reduction effort
-
Printed parts multiple times after testing and adjusting
-
Adjusted existing models to account for new components being differently shaped
-
Adjusted SolidWorks assemblies and parts for new needs and making new parts to fit into assemblies

-
Created drawings for new parts to be used by machinists and other companies
-
Adjusted drawings based on feedback from manufacturers
-
Trained on good drawing practices, different views, cut outs, blow up views, multiple sheets, keeping dimensions off of the part, keeping drawings clutter free, fully defining locations of features.
-
Trained on Agile PLM, checking parts in and out, ECOs, IADs, BOMs
-
Made SolidWorks drawings for production of a specialized request for our product
